MPIF 2012 DESIGN COMPETETION得獎

MPIF (Metal Powder Industries Federation) / APMI International 一年一度的國際粉末冶金年會，今年於6月10日到13日在美國田納西州的Nashville舉行。經過這幾年金融風暴及景氣低迷之後，美國汽車業的成長已帶動整個粉末冶金市場的復甦，包括非汽車產業成長亦非常顯著，市場前景一片看好。
會議除了學術的論文發表及廠商會場展覽之外，壓軸的重頭戲仍就是年度的粉末冶金產品設計比賽(DESIGN EXCELLENCE AWARDS COMPETETION)的部份，台保今年以FPUB005F零件參加年度設計比賽，這是一件用於小型園藝耕耘除草方面的齒輪箱零件，形狀複雜是以上二下三方式成形，相較其他機械加工方式，可節省50%以上的製造成本。此產品獲MPIF評審團一致認同，評選為年度設計優勝獎(Award of Distinction)，本次得獎也是台保繼2009年之後，再度獲得此項殊榮，更肯定台保在國際粉末冶金舞台的努力與實力，台保自1997首度得獎，期間2001、2003，及2009也得獎，這次是第五次獲得粉末冶金設計比賽的獎勵，綜觀台保這幾年在開發上履履有創新可與國際競爭的產品不斷開發出來，這是整體技術與製造團隊從DR0開始的貢獻。
本次獲獎，台保由朱總經理及筆者於6月中前往美國接受頒獎。

Local Executives Accept Award in International Design Competition
Chiu-Lung Chu, general manager, and Dr. Huei-Long Lee, manager, engineering department, Porite Taiwan Co. Ltd., Taiwan, ROC, accepted an Award of Distinction in the Lawn & Garden/Off-Highway category of the 2012 Powder Metallurgy Design Excellence Awards Competition. The award was given for a powder metallurgy (PM) steel gear output box made for Pubert SAS.
They accepted the award for their company at the PowderMet2012 conference in Nashville, Tennessee.
PM is an automated metalworking process that forms metal powders into precision components used in applications such as auto engines and transmissions, hardware, industrial machinery, sporting goods, defense, and firearms. More than 800 million pounds of PM parts are made annually in North America.
The competition is sponsored annually by the Metal Powder Industries Federation, an international trade association for the metal powder producing and consuming industries.
